DormWith
Privacy Policy
Effective October 23, 2026
DormWith helps incoming college students find roommates and classmates. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account: name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), birth date, gender, hometown and city.
- School: school, major, class year, dorm, interests and roommate preferences.
- Content you add: profile photo, about-me text, posts and comments, chat messages and the images you send.
- Sign-in with Facebook or Apple: your name, email and account ID from that service, and nothing else.
- Instagram, if you link it: your Instagram username and, for professional accounts you link, access to show your recent posts on your profile. You can disconnect it at any time.
- Device and security: push-notification tokens and sign-in history (date, IP address, country, device type), used to protect accounts.
How we use it
To run the app: matching and showing you schoolmates and roommates, chats, notifications, and account emails such as verification and password reset. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
- Your profile is visible to students at your school, as the app's privacy settings allow. Chats are visible only to their members.
- Service providers process data for us: our server host, Cloudflare (file storage), Google (Firebase push notifications and email delivery), and Apple and Meta when you choose to sign in or link with them.
Where it is kept
On servers in the United States and in Cloudflare's storage network.
Keeping and deleting it
We keep your data while your account exists. To have your account and data deleted, see dormwith.com/data-deletion.
